How to reduce exposure and transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19) according to the WHO standards
WHO’s recommended standards for the people to cut down
chances of exposure to and transmission of COVID-19 are as
follows:
1. Avoid
direct unprotected contact with live animals and surfaces in contact with
animals, when visiting live markets in areas currently experiencing cases of
novel coronavirus;
2. Clean
your hands frequently by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water;
3. Avoid the
consumption of raw or undercooked animal products. Raw meat, milk or animal
organs should be handled with care, to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked
foods, as per good food safety practices.
4. Seek
medical care early if you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing and
share previous travel history with your health care provider for easy tracking
of the disease;
5.Cover the
mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue when coughing and sneezing. Make
sure you throw the tissue away immediately and wash hands;
6. Avoid
being close to anyone who has a fever and cough;
